I have not yet found research telling if the aromatase-induced arthralgias (AIA) actually cause joint damage like osteoarthritis. They are calling them arthralgias, not arthritis. So...has anyone seen any research for this? I am on my 4th week of letrozole (Femara) and have started to have some new joint pain and increased pain in joints already slightly arthritic. It has been confirmed that it is AIA. A researcher at the Women's Breast Center at Baylor Medical Center is suggesting that I get my… read more

I’ve been on anastroplze and the hot flashes are unbelievable. Moving into my own bedroom so I am more comfortable temperature wise. My husband is not happy but not willing to be cold either lol. Be kind to ourselves is my motto today. May all of you treat yourself with loving kindness today. It shows others how to treat us. And remember to straighten someone else’s crown today. 🙏🏻❤️

I did 5 years of AI and had arthralgia of both knees (walking daily helped this a lot). I’ve been off AI’s for 4 months and pain is totally gone so hang in there!!

Thanks, Anybee. I have been talking about getting back on glucosamine as I direct my PT patients to do. Didn't know Vit. C would be helpful. The good news is that the arthralgias could and might lessen as time goes on. Yes...about the blocking of cancer cells...that's why I will not quit taking it. Thanks!

That is super news that all pain went away at 5 year point when you stopped the 5 year plan for AI’s. It offers us all encouragement.
