I'm taking it for BC, I had an allergic reaction to Taxol so they switched me. My dr has lowered my dose and also changed my schedule to help alleviate the neuropathy. I'm hoping it will be better now..I read you story and totally understand your hesitation. That said, I know Abraxane has been touted as a wonderful drug, no additives so you won't need steroids or Benadryl with administration. Wish I could give you better advice.. Trust your gut, most importantly. Wishing you all the best!!

Hi Blkint: Thanks for getting back to me. Are you on Abraxane for BC or mets? I just had a chest xray and it showed ground glass opacities. My doctor immediately wants to start Abaxane. I've had a lot of chemo in my lifetime and I'm just not so certain I want to go another round with it. I'm a 10 year BC survivor but it has metastecized to my bones. I got a second opinion from another doc who said the lung problems could be CAUSED by the chemo I've had. So having more seems to me that it would add to the problem. I'm in a quandary and I don't want to go against my docs orders but I'm also afraid of Abraxane.
I'm sorry to hear about your neuropathy. I'm also diabetic so I already have to be careful of getting that. Thanks in advance for any advice or thoughts you can pass my way.
