Tomoxifen and other blockers only make us sick and in pain. I have heard of so many have damage to their heart. Lets look at this we are fighting cancer to stay alive but the treatments do things like damage our heart and other needed organs we need to stay alive. I was just taken off tamoxifen. I couldn't take it. I also couldn't take arimidex, which is another one he tried. I see oncologist tomorrow and I'm discussing not taking anything else. I'm sick of being sick! Now I have percarditis which is inflammation around the lining of the heart which can be caused by herceptin! It's also caused by a virus,but I haven't been sick, other than the side effects! Anyway I hope that helps but on to something more positive. I had an awesome church service tonight. I was on tamoxifen for 3years after treatment and still had a reacurrence its not a guarantee. What it did do was slow the growth of the mass. There are other hormone replacement drugs that work better or as well as tamoxifen. I know someone that has refused it. She was diagnosed in a early stage had treatment radiation therapy surgery she didn't want to take the tamoxifen. She put herself on a low estragin diet no soy in any form and she has been fine for almost 10 years. Is her own personal choice.
