Radiation Therapy

A MyBCTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just finished 4 weeks of radiation 2 days ago. I did not need chemotherapy, but my neck, spine, and ribs ache. I am wondering if this could be side effects from the radiation? I just feel so sore. Did anyone else go through this? I am trying to exercise a half hour daily to fight the fatigue, but maybe I am making things worse?

Thank you. I am burned with a sunburn and am itching too, but the aquiphor and cortisone cream help me tremendously.

I have not started radiation yet but i have been told by others (that have) that radiation causes fatigue. Maybe that's where most of your fatigue is coming from.

Hi
You must be relieved that your radiation is over, I believe you might be sore because of the way you were laying on the table , if you were going every day for four weeks that could be one of the reasons I do remembered that I was sore and I was also red in the area. Don’t be alarmed I think it’s perfectly normal for this type of treatment also the fatigue can be very debilitating at times try to go about your normal life but rest when you can congratulations on your end of treatment and be well💗

I finally finished radiation. Had a lot of fatigue and towards the end, I had burning/blistering. It's been a couple of weeks since my last treatment and I just now healed from it all. I did notice some back pain towards the end as well but it went away. Hope you're doing well!
