Myrtle Beach, SC

I had a double radical mastectomy. I’m looking for a surgery for reconstruction.

I chose flat as well with my bilateral mastectomy... much easier to find clothes that fit etc...(especially bathing suits..) instead of trying to find something to make the breasts match. I agree with Robyn... if you don't mind being flat... maybe they can just do a little revision that make things more symmetrical and call it a day. I didn't want to keep on going through surgery after surgery.. I just wanted to be alive and well and cancer free... and to be healthy so I can be active and live life asap... I wanted cancer to be a thing of the past. I don't have any regrets. Maybe check out a group called Flat and Fabulous on facebook.. there are so may amazing ladies on there... really great support system and resources.. for flat or no symmetrical breasts without reconstruction. Might help give you clarity and find some answer you are looking for connecting with women that have made the same decisions and choices you are trying to. Good luck to you whatever you decide! None of the decisions are easy.

Breast free and loving it. But everyone is different. Your first choice is implants (silicone? saline? gummy bear silicone which is more solid in nature and will not leak), which begins with tissue expanders to stretch the skin (takes a few months of stretching) Then the tissue expanders are exchanged for the implants. Next choice is moving a flap of skin and fat from the lower abdomen to the chest to create new breasts. Or, a flap can be moved from your back around your torso to the chest.

You are correct! To 🔥with them! The dog ear is a minor procedure at least. You aren’t burning any bridges by staying flat and reconstructing at a later time if the need shall arise ( meeting someone and it’s important to both of you ..) but in the whole picture - there is so much more to all of us women than breasts 😘😘 be true to yourself and your needs 💖💖
