My Question Is: Did Anyone Get A Second Opinion Or Just Go With The Flow?

They, the oncologist and breast doctor agree for me to do chemo first to shrink the cancer. The treatment will last 6 hours with these drugs: Docetaxel + Carboplatin + Trastuzumab (TCH) + Pertuzumab,
Thank you in advance!

That is the same treatment I had after only five cycles and Pet scan showed negative for cancer and continues to do so . I had stage 4 BC . Now on maintenance immunotherapy with Perjeta , Herceptin. and Arimidex . God is in control .😀

I went with the flow, my doctors were wonderful. When I went to see the oncologist for the first time we discussed the type of breast cancer I had. He recommended a bilateral mastectomy instead of just having the left breast removed because I probably would be back in 6 months to a year having the right breast removed because the type of cancer. Good thing I decided to take his advice because when my pathology report came back they found I had Noninvasice Ductal and Noninvasive Lobular cancer in the right breast and none of the prior testing including Breast MRI showed any cancer in the right breast.

I myself went with the flow. I felt very comfortable with my doctors and treatment. They were all so amazing.

I’m a big believer in second opinions and for me did get different recommendations from different doctors. Though I’m lucky to live in a big city with easy access to a variety of providers so I was able to schedule second opinion appointments (and some tie breaker 3rd opinions) without undue delay. Best of luck!

I had lumpectomy 14 months ago and had 15 times radiotherapy after the surgery. My lump is 7mm and ER/PR+ her2-. Ki67,18%. Taking anastrozole for one year now. Worry about recur since my surgeon said i dont need chemo as my cancer is early stage. Now i think may be I should go for a second opinion…just not sure the treatment i had was to best one or not.
