Mastectomy-Chemo-Radiation Completed.
This question is for women who have completed these treatments at least a year ago. How have you been monitored since? Without being able to have a mammogram, how has your doctor monitored you for recurrences?
@A MyBCTeam Member: i alternate mammos with MRI's every 6 months, plus 2 physical exams a year (one GP, one Onc). Onc tried to send me back to yearly mammos as my ONLY surveillance - I told him to kiss my unicorn buttocks, since my first mammo was totally clear despite what ended up being 3 tumours. ππ¦π©·π
Hi Susan, itβs pretty sad that the drugs that are helping us cause such horrible side effects .
I am glad to hear you are two years NED. I wish you the best Randy! Continued good health.
The only way I'm being monitored is by mammograms yearly now. I'm two years of being cncer free. The most bothersome thing is my hands and feet with the neuropathy pain. I wish the best for you with your recovery. Take care βΊοΈ
Good for you Melissa. Women have to advocate for themselves because until things change we are all that we have. Women need to know their cancers haven't come back by testing that can prove it. She shouldn't have to wonder and live in a state of fear waiting for something to happen. β€οΈ
