Does Anyone Else Have Arthritis In Hands And Trigger Fingers Since The Start Of Anastrozole?
Yes, I noticed the beginning of trigger fingers. After the doctor took me off it, I did not have any more problems.
My bc was HER2+, so no hormone therapy- and I still get trigger finger! Apparently some residual nerve damage from chemo. I have found putting rice in a sock, and heating it in the microwave, then holding it in the palm of my hand helps relax the muscles, and gets me past those episodes quicker and with less pain. Hugs!
I already had arthritis in my hands (mostly thumbs) before I started Anastrozole but I haven't noticed it worsening at all. And I cannot imagine how the drug could cause trigger finger. You should see your doctor about that. It is so easy to suspect every new issue, pain, or whatever is caused by Anastrozole. If something new pops up, talk to your physician to determine the cause.
Yes I have had it when on letrizole after three years switched to exemestane. Also have pain in ankles and feet . Now it’s in the thigh or knee. Didn’t start with letrizole till after about two years. With exemestane after 10 months. That’s not to say you will have same results. Some people have nothing. Been on prolia 4 years switching to reclast. Just found out you can not just stop prolia you must go to another bone drug and ween off. Good luck it’s a journey
I see my oncologist in July and I was also going to ask to switch medication but like you I am hesitant. Will the next medication that I try have even more side affects? I don’t know which estrogen blocker causes less arthritis.
