I am still trying to decide on whether to get a single or double, or tissue reconstruction or implants.

@A MyBCTeam Member, With DMX, the first few days I needed help getting up from bed and going to bathroom. But by day 3 there was a big improvement and from there things went better. I chose to stay in the hospital for 6 days under the excuse that I would get my H+P treatment there before leaving, so it gave me some extra time to feel better. I know you usually get kicked out sooner, but if you can, max out those days as you’ll need help from nurses.
First week at home also nice to get help: cooking etc. But after that it’s smooth sailing. Just taking good care of the scars and PT. And watching for excessive swelling etc., which they can easily drain since you don’t have much feeling in the breast area anyway. In any case, I could lift both my arms over my shoulders immediately, which was great. I think if they remove more than the sentinel nodes though, then you may have more pain and stiffness on that side.
All in all not a bad experience and I’m glad this was done. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.
