Hair loss or thinning is a common side effect of abemaciclib (Verzenio). According to clinical studies and data from the U.S. FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS), hair loss is the most frequent skin-related side effect for people taking CDK inhibitor medications like abemaciclib. Skin symptoms made up 15 percent of all the side effects reported from CDK inhibitors, and 44 percent of those skin-symptom reports were about hair loss. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience this side effect.
