Thanks so much. I had HR positive Her2 negative 12 years ago. My cancer has not returned; however, my oncologist is recommending that I have my ovaries removed as a precaution. I am 66 years old and had a partial hysterectomy when I was 40.

So sorry about your daughter. Did you get a genetic test done?
For you, I would definitely remove the ovaries as this is a very light and quick surgery and will remove a lot of risk.
Wishing you and her a lot of courage and good vibes! 💖

It's important to follow the treatment plan provided by your daughter's healthcare team. Here are some key points based on your knowledge base:

- Chemotherapy and Keytruda (pembrolizumab): This combination is often used to treat TNBC. Chemotherapy can be given before surgery (neoadjuvant) to shrink the tumor, making it easier to remove.

- Double Mastectomy: This surgery involves removing both breasts and is a common option for those with larger tumors or those who want to reduce the risk of recurrence.

- Post-Surgery: After the mastectomy, adjuvant therapy (additional treatment) may be recommended to eliminate any remaining cancer cells. This could include more chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or targeted treatments.

- Support: Emotional and psychological support is crucial. Encourage your daughter to join support groups or connect with others who understand her journey.

- Follow-Up Care: Regular follow-up appointments are essential to monitor her recovery and check for any signs of recurrence.

Always consult with her healthcare team for personalized advice and to address any concerns.
