So I’m a 29 y.o. triple negative breast cancer patient. My staging wasn’t too clear, I was originally told stage 2 because some tissue came back as non-lymph tissue. However now I’m being told there was lymph node involvement. I have completed chemo prior to surgery, and just had a double mastectomy w/ expanders placed at the same time. I don’t have the same cancer as you (mine is Her2 positive which kinda resembles the TNBC in the sense that it doesn’t have hormone receptors and is aggressive ), but I also had a pathological complete response at surgery (DMX) and so radiation was not necessary. But I had no lymph nodes affected. I believe when you do have the nodes, they still recommend radiation. But I agree with the ladies above that maybe you could ask for a shorter course. It does have its own cancer risk. But indeed, if you’re young, you’re in better shape to tolerate all the side effects that come with the treatment. See if you can find any studies on the web about this. Taking the lead in your treatment is the best you can do for yourself. And we’re here for you too. ❤️❤️❤️

Hi Cassandra T I’m also TNBC stage 2 I was diagnosed in 2020 I didn’t had to do radiation instead I did 9 infusions of Keytruda.
