Has Anyone Quit There Treatment And Just Went On A Keto Diet And Exercise?
I have stage 4 breast cancer
It's working for many people and stage 4 cancers too. Look it up. Keto is high in fat and protein, low carbs, zero sugar. I eat chicken, beef, fish, veggies, lots of salads, avoid seed oils, no bread, pasta, rice etc. Cancer feeds off sugar and carbs convert to sugar in the body. Fasting basically starves the cancer but not you if you're in ketosis since you're using the fat stored in your body.
Hello, I am on keto - which mimics fasting. You're just asking sign aiming to change your system to get energy from fat rather than glucose. So I was diagnosed in March with ILC which does not respond well to chemo but because the cancer was in the lymph nodes, received chemo. I just had my comparison MRI and everything has shrunk. I gave up alcohol and caffeine, and check my ketones daily. I truly feel after all my reading that ketosis is the thing to do with cancer. Cancers, like brain cancer, that doesn't have much hope improved and some patients have lasted 10 years where normal response to chemo would have given then 15 months. I decided to use keto along side of treatments as keto has some other benefits of protecting your healthy cells. Best of healthy wishes in whatever you decide
I haven’t done this, but there are plenty of books and stories out there of people healing mets with keto AND fasting! But fasting at least 48hrs. Just look on Amazon, plenty of stories from people on that. Chris Beat Cancer is one of those. Sending you the best healing vibes!
Hi again, keto is not about eating lots of meat (that's the carnivore diet) It's about eating lots of fat. The macros (percentage of fat, protein, carbs) are different according to what you're trying to accomplish. I eat about 75% fat (mostly from coconut oil/MCT), 20% protein (eggs, cheese, fish, chicken, once a week steak), 5% carbs (salad, asparagus, zucchini) I eat avocados with many meals. And my snack is macadamia nuts. I recommend the book "Keto for Cancer" by Mariam Kalamian. Although I have to admit I've probably read over 10 keto cancer books and find varying opinions. I also go to PubMed and look at research and trials.
Also I was already low carb, as I needed a diet to deal with my IBS. There are allot of things I just can eat. So the only the I changed was add all that healthy fat (read on benefits of coconut oil - some intriguing studies), and cut down a bit on my meat and actually increased a bit on my carb (only low carb veggie - no fruits).
Also alcohol is metabolized before your food, and has some nasty characteristics with cancer risks so I have quit for my time in treatment and will limit my amount in my healthy future.
My diet is not for everyone. I know vegans who say they can't eat meat, and carnivores (I was one for a while on my elimination diet) who can't eat whatever. People have different genes that were raised in different parts of the world on different diets so need or craved something different.
Wishing a happy, healthy Sunday to everyone!
Fasting is not good if you are on medicine. I know being stage 4 I wouldn't even consider any kind of diet. I am heading out death's door enjoying chocolate, pizza, ice cream and bologna sandwiches.
