A MyBCTeam Member asked a question 💭

Is there anyone NOT always tired?
Post after post 'Tired' ' Just tired' 'Battling fatigue'.
Fatigue and tiredness seem to be the most common complaint along with pain.

Between having cancer, chemo, radiation and the drugs that treat Breast cancer

On a scale from 1-10 what is your level of fatigue?
Is there anything you found that works to counter your fatigue?

I find that it takes a lottttt of self motivation to fight fatigue…but this natural regimen has kept me going most days. Oh AND I MAKE MYSELF WALK at least 20 mins a day at some point! Treadmill or outside!

Natural Regimen:
VITAMIN D3
ZINC
VITAMIN C
TUMERIC/GINGER TEA DAILY

ALL OF THESE FIGHT CANCER CELLS AS WELL!❤️❤️❤️

I thought that I was the only one feeling fatigue. Friends and family believe that because you look ok. Propped yourself up and put on some makeup that your fine. Your not sick or on tons of medication that you take to live but really hate taking it.
Their are days when I say I need to rest. Even if I don't sleep. I need to just let my body be still

Good morning, Rose. It is weird but exercise actually helps. Even if it is just walking a few circuits around your home.

Yesterday morning I hauled 4 very full trash bins to the curb. I put a tub of gardening stuff into the shed and got my daughter’s baby swing out and loaded it into the car. I kenneled the dogs. Then I drove 90 miles to visit my husband at rehab. I went to his physical therapy with him. I had dinner with him. I drove 90 miles home. When I got home, I fed the animals and fed me. I called my husband. At 10:30, my SIL called. Two hours later, I was finally able to go to bed.

This morning I got a call from home health to set up services for my husband after he discharged. I politely declined and then had to explain home come we were declining home health and going straight to outpatient physical therapy. I told her that we had finished with home health in June. We had already added the safety bars as recommended by OT. He continued to do the exercises recommended by PT and ST. She asked if we had explained this to the case manager. I told her that we have never spoken with the case manager.

After I got off the phone, I scheduled hubby for outpatient physical therapy. I also scheduled his follow up with the surgeon. In the process, I had to reschedule two of my appointments. Then I went back to bed.

Tomorrow, I get another 190 mile round trip to go to my oncology appointment and then over to rehab to spend time with hubby.

Sorry for the long post just to say I’m always exhausted.

I'm about a 5 on the fatigue scale most days. I just sleep when I need it, and do what I can when I can. I'm having to teach family and friends that this is my new normal.
