I'm IDC with ER/PR+ and HER2 Negative. Lymph node biopsy was not done.

Bonnie, I was Grade 1, Stage 1 with a very small tumor - just 7 mm. I was given the choice of whether to have a lymph node biopsy and my choice was to do it. I just wanted the reassurance of knowing that there was no evidence of disease in my lymph nodes. I just felt better having that information. Same with the Oncotype score. I opted to do that. I feel safer knowing that my score is 11. I met a woman recently who was Grade 1, Stage 1 with a very small tumor but her Oncotype score was 44!! That completely changed her treatment plan.

My PCP thinks the Covid vaccines are too new. My oncologist didn't seem to have an opinion and I have yet to consult with my pulmonologist. I am taking the most conservative route so for right now I do not plan to get a COVID vaccine. I have a whole slew of other vaccines to get. Last year I got the pneumonia vaccine and I was never at a therapeutic levels because of my compromised immune system so that is a very real thing as well. I struggle with bombarding my immune system when it's already barely keeping its head above water. If I hadn't been so horribly sick last winter I would never do it. But I know things like Shingles would be horrible.

I would ask the opinion of the oncology pharmacist, who knows all the drugs in your treatment protocols. We often forget that pharmacists are doctors- actually- specialists, and their area of expertise is drugs, interactions, and reactions. Hugs!

I myself would get the Novavax.

No side effects at all and better protection as geared to newer Covid. It is not made like the MNRA vaccines of Pfizer and Moderna..

When you go online, to sign up for Novavax at a pharmacy , make sure that it does not default to the MNRA vaccines.
Some pharmacies have to manually input Novavax but that should have been corrected by now.

Also please say that you are there for the Novavax and ask to see the name on the bottle.

There are so many errors with people lately that one needs to be proactive.

***Please ask your breast surgeon why a sentinel lymph node biopsy not taken….

Then please tell us what he says.
