I agree with Paula, while I am aware of the statistics, I try not to dwell on them. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us. When those thoughts push in, I remind myself I am keeping my appts, and doing things (within reason/moderation) to stay healthy. Cancer has already taken enough from us, so I make sure I have plenty of things to do that I enjoy, my instruments, books, volunteer work, etc. We deserve to enjoy the life we fought for- no matter how many days we have. Nurses, doctors, etc. will tell you that your stress levels, and your attitude, are the "intangibles" the things they can't measure for their statistics that make all the difference!! Hugs!

Enjoy each day...it is the luck of the draw whether you do or do not get cancer...and who knows when our number will be called...do the things you enjoy...plan a trip...shop...talk on the phone...faith, family, and friends helps me...keep moving forward otherwise the negative takes over

exactly @A MyBCTeam Member, any a number of things could result in death long before breast cancer will. One day at time, just live for today.

5 years of life expectancy could be cut short by a car accident, illness, plane crash, etc. so just enjoy every day you are gifted with. I did make out my will, got a dog to share my life with and do the best I can everyday - Angels can do no better!

It varies with many. I look at it from the time of diagnoses. But then I know I had it at least a year before diagnoses so I have probably been Stage 4 since Jan 2022 given my lump was first seen in Dec 2022 but other stages I am not certain if a 'life expectancy' is possible because treatments can kill it and not every woman gets a recurrence. Some women get a recurrence within a year or two after first diagnosed while others don't for a decade later .
