You will have to wear a compression bra through the whole cycle of reconstruction. My mastectomy was in April 2024 and second stage was September 9th. Still wearing compression bra and will until my visit in December with the plastic surgeon. It sucks but keeps thing healing well and in place.

After breast reconstruction surgery, wearing a bra or breast support 24/7 is not always necessary. However, wearing comfortable bras can help manage chest tightness. Avoid underwire bras, tight sports bras, and shirts with built-in shelf bras if they cause discomfort. Bralettes are often recommended for comfort.

Reconstruction can impact self-esteem and body image, but it may not directly address post-surgical chest tightness. For managing chest tightness, consider:

- Physical Therapy: A licensed physical therapist can help develop an exercise routine to reduce tightness.
- Strengthening Exercises: Weight-bearing exercises, with your surgeon's approval, can help rebuild muscle.
- Swimming: Low-impact exercise like swimming can increase mobility and reduce discomfort.

Always consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice.
