I am sorry you are feeling so low! Finding a therapist or counselor is like shoe shopping. You need to find something right for the occasion, the right style and fit.
For us bc survivors we need to find someone who understands the ongoing trauma of a cancer diagnosis and treatment, has a style that you feel comfortable with, and a schedule that fits your availability. If you don't find that with the first therapist- try again. If there is an in person support group at your center, please make the effort to go. Having the opportunity to be around other survivors, and hopefully get some suggestions for therapists/counselors in your area may help. Our center also had activities available, seated Tai-Chi, art, crafts, music therapy- all at no charge. If there is a YMCA near you, call to see if they have the LiveStrong program- exercise and activity classes for bc patients/survivors.

You may also want to consider activities outside of bc- we are all so much more than our diagnosis! What things do you enjoy doing? Is there something you can volunteer to do in your community? Wishing you well, as you continue to look for ways to better enjoy the life you fought for! Hugs!

Yes, there are options beyond traditional therapy and medication. Oncology social workers, psychologists, or counselors specializing in chronic illness can provide tailored support. Peer support groups, like "breast cancer buddies" or online communities such as MyBCTeam (url: https://www.mybcteam.com), connect you with others who truly understand. Exploring alternative therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy, biofeedback, or mindfulness practices may also help. You're not alone—help is available.
