If You Lost Your Hair Due To Chemo, How Long Did It Take To Grow Back?

I shaved my head like a crew cut prior to my first treatment. 2nd treatment is today and and I'm finding bald spots, so I'm considering shaving it all off. But I am scared.

I had my hairdresser shave mine off as I couldn't stand looking at the handfuls coming out. There are so many things you can do now to mimmick having hair. One of my favorites was wearing fake bangs (I called them "bangs on a stick) it was really a thing metal headband.......then put on a knit hat. All you see is the bangs and they look so real. Loved it!!!

I feel like a brillo pad right now. Hubby rubs my head at night... Scratchy and my hats all stuck to it like Velcro. Ugh. 2 more chemo treatments and hopefully it will grown back soon after

I shaved my head after the first chemo treatment. I honestly thought I was going to die when I shaved my head but I didn't. I wore beautiful scarves and cute hats. Remember bald really is beautiful!! Your hair will grow back. Not as quickly as you would like but it will come back. I still have no eyebrows and very thin lashes but that doesn't define me as a person. I'm still here and so happy to be alive!! It's all good! You are beautiful just the way you are at the moment!! Please stay in touch. We love you. Prayers , much love and endless hugs!!

With my first diagnosis in 2019, I had long hair, so I chose to cut it super short (I asked my hairdresser to cut it like Pink's hair) I'm glad I did...After the first infusion, I started losing my hair. My doctor had to change the chemo as I couldn't tolerate it (it was A/C). I never went completely 100% bald, bald patches, lost eyebrows. It took about 6 months to grow my hair out right below my chin. I was blonde before the chemo, hair very straight. After chemo, it grew in wiry, the texture of a steel wool pad. It settled down in a couple of months and turned all gray. Now I have a good head of hair, shoulder length. I have it colored with organic henna 🙂
