Radiation
I’ve had two weeks of radiation and I’m not red yet. Why is that
Mosturize several times a day anyway. Everybody is different but most folks do get the redness and peeling. It'll come, trust me. You can handle it really well using a good lotion and drinking a lot of water. So happy you're doing so well!! Happy Saturday!!!
Thank you. I’ve been using Aquaphor at night and a goat milk cream that a friend had made for me and it’s helping
Hi Lyn, I didn’t see any irritation until after my radiation ended. When I finished, I thought this was a breeze, and it wasn’t bad. But afterwards, I did develop an area that turned dark looked like a burn didn’t feel like a burn, but the skin peeled and it was pink skin underneath it. That area healed fine with lots of moisturizing. The other issue I had was little bumps at the very bottom part of my breast that itched and hydrocortisone helped with that. I used Aquaphor healing ointment at night and Lubriderm advanced therapy lotion, fragrance free during the day. They both helped a lot
Skin changes from radiation therapy, like redness or irritation, often develop gradually. It's common not to notice these effects in the first couple of weeks. Everyone's skin reacts differently based on factors like skin type, treatment area, and radiation dose. Keep moisturizing and following your care team's advice to Show Full Answer
Hugs are really nice especially at the end of a busy day!
