Being Yourself Is More Than Enough

Posted on May 14, 2018

"After years of feeling like I need to be better, stronger, healthier, and in control, I now know I am enough." -Member of MyBCTeam

Members of MyBCTeam experience the burden of breast cancer physically, emotionally, and psychologically. Sometimes we strive to appear healthier than we are to avoid the stigma of cancer. Other times, we experience relief and support from women who've been in our shoes.

"I'm getting out of the rat race. I'm not hiding my struggles anymore. If I'm tired, I'm going to rest. Hearing from others with breast cancer has taught me that I have to prioritize ME."
-Member of MyBCTeam

Here are recent conversations from members on MyBCTeam:

"I know it's hard sometimes, so many things you have to go through, so many things to deal with and a lot of people to deal with but one thing that keeps me going is realizing there's always somebody worse off than I am."

"I will say that my BC gave me some unexpected gifts last year. I was given some cherished moments with my boys that I would have never gotten otherwise. My sons really stepped up and helped out throughout my diagnosis and surgeries."

"Doing my best to understand and just accept what is happening and accept what I do not know. I love life and want to take advantage of each second. Yes, the journey is not smooth, I just have to learn to balance the life’s journey each breath. Very grateful for the support and love."

Have you found yourself striving to appear as though you have it all together? Have you discovered ways to surround yourself with others who make you feel that you are more than enough? Share what you've learned in the comments below or directly on MyBCTeam.com.

I am doing fine! Busy, working full time. Still trying to balance work/family-home time.
