I am 10 days into my 1st taxotere/cytoxan. First couple days wired from steroids, mouth immediately affected, split lips, no taste buds, used plastic utensils, had zero appetite. Lost 4 pounds in 6 days, ended up getting iv fluids on day 6. No Neulasta or Neupogennwhich can alsonhave their own side effects. Alsomhave acne like rash on face and just port side arm and chest. severe aches and pains for a few days. Severe cramping/nausea/diarrhea. I take 2 nausea meds 3 hours apart, definitely helped. Roof of mouth felt like sandpaper, hurt to swallow. NOW AT Day 10, I feel like a human again.

I had Taxotere and Cytoxin together, so I can't be sure which side effects were from which drug. I experience constipation for the first 4-5 days after a treatment, then had diarrhea. My tongue was sore and nothing tasted like it should. I used all the Biotene products (toothpaste, mouthwash and gum) and found them very effective and soothing. I had patches of the rash and was very grateful it wasn't all over me. Over the counter Bendryl creme worked well for the rash. The tingling and numbness is a common side effect, I think, although I didn't have a problem with it. I was weak and unsteady on my feet for about 2 weeks after treatment. I also had a cough and lost my voice for 2-3 days about10 days after treatment every time. By the third week, I was feeling almost back to normal, just in time to do it all again. Be sure you let you onco know about the tingling in your hands, its something they will want to keep a close eye on. Hang in there.

First dose, I wanted to die, was in bed for 10 days. loss of taste, craved vinegar, mouth soars, extreme weakness, gained weight with the steroids.

I had Taxotere and Cytoxin together. Hair loss, loss of taste, sore mouth and tongue, diarreah and constipation depending on the day, sore and itchy feet and hands, hand cramps, skin peeling on my fingers, muscle spasms in my back, lower back pain, bone pain in my thighs, weight gain, menopause, finger and toe nail damage.

I had most all those and lost 45 lbs by the end of my treatment, including Taxatore ( mine was stage 3C). My Dr. had to switch me over and take off the taxatore for the last couple of treatments. It was causing me serious, serious weight loss and illness. I could not eat and whole digestive system. Was in hospital and had colitis and acid reflex from all of it. My Dr. increased the Cytoxin and Adrymyacin, and symptoms got better. I still had the TAC due to increase in amounts of other two drugs. Please discuss this with your Dr. YOU are in control of your own health. You may ask if there is another way to change your treatment. I felt I would have died if I continued with the last 2 treatments!!
