Recommended Beauty Products (Eyebrows/Eyelashes)

A MyBCTeam Member asked a question 💭
Alexandria, VA

Greetings-
Just wanted to check in and see if any one has any recommended brands for eyebrow sets and/or false eyelashes. I have been told I will lose them during chemo and would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks,
FPz

I did lose eyebrows and lashes completely. I didn't do anything for the lashes, but for the brows I got an Anastasia brand brow pencil and powder and drew mine in. The pencil is a clear wax that helps the powder stick, so it tends to look softer than just straight eyebrow pencil. Got mine at a Nordstrom (and in fact there was a girl there who spent time with me...) but I see you can get online, at Sephora, etc.

I lost eye brows and lashes also. I also used Anastasia, I got it at Ulta. I didn't do anything for my lashes, I didn't loose the last of them until the very end of chemo and they started coming back in pretty quick.

I did lose eyebrows/lashes. At the cancer facility they had a WELLNESS BEAUTY SESSION. Helpful suggestions how to cope...check at your hospital. It is two years since I lost brows, they are back now sparse in areas. I saw on QVC Laura Geller's has a brow sculpting marker ( watch the video) it may help you

I didn't do anything. I just went hairless, and felt pretty good about myself, too.

I second Heidi on this one. Anastasia is a great brand. They also have a powder version that includes stencils in case you lose the whole brow. Mine thinned alot, but I never fully lost them all at one time.

Generally speaking, my eyelashes and brows didn't fall out all at once like the rest of my body hair. Instead, it slowly fell out during the 4 months of chemo. Then, after chemo was over, THAT is when the last few eyelashes fell out and they all grew back in. It's like the new growth pushes out the old stuff as it's growing in.

My whole point is that it you might not need to worry about the brows and lashes in the beginning, but it's always nice to have those things around for when look in the mirror and realize they're looking thin.
