Did Anyone Have A Lumpectomy, Radiation And Chemo On Round One And Then Round Two Have Bilateral Masctomies?
I am about 5 weeks out of having my implants put in and my right side is still very tender and hard. This is the side where I had previous radiation. Will this get better with time? At first both looked the same but now that the healing process is underway they are different.
I was told by my plastic surgeon that the success rate with reconstruction on irradiated tissue was not satisfactory for both patient and surgeon, and if I wanted reconstruction, to do it before radiation for this reason. Healing time would be greatly increased as well.
