Does Everyone Has To Get Tattooed On The Chest For Radiation?
From a radiology insider, permanent dots will ALWAYS identify the EXACT area of radiation exposure for future reference. It's a very small price to pay.
I have one right in my cleavage! Looks like a freckle and the others are fading. Was necessary for me and like others said it is nothing. You do what ya gotta do. Thanks for the comment of badge of honor. That helped me put it in perspective. You warriors are so smart
NO! I did not. They used sharpies and little round clear tagaderm stickers to cover it. We reapplied as needed. The stickers were to cover the sharpie and keep it there. I also agreed to shower/scrub a little less. Green Sharpie works best.
I had three tattoo markings: one on each side and then one on my chest in the center of my breasts/chest. I was worried about getting them and it hurting, but it wasn't that bad. It is a small blue ink dot that no one can really notice, unless they are familiar with it or I show them. It's useful for the RAD techs to line up with the machine and all. Moreover, it's useful for us to receive our treatment properly! :) I had mine done at Ingham Medical in Lansing, MI> IF you get one, welcome to the tattoo club! :) Best of luck to you.
It is a small price to pay for ease and perfect, consistent alignment...but I still HATE them! I asked if I had to get them and was told yes.
When I had my nipples tattooed I had them cover the dots with skin colored ink and they aren't noticeable anymore.
