My hair came back silver and curly!! My hubby wants me to not color it anymore..... It is all I can do to let it be natural color.

Be careful what you wish for. I had always wanted to know my true haircolor and I have always wanted a boob job. Well, this cancer thing gave me both.

@A MyBCTeam Member - I would start with a semi-permanent color, the kind that washes out in 28 shampoos. Your new hair may take to color differently so you won't be stuck with something you don't like for long

I wasn't told anything about my hair but to be wray of strong chemical smells because not only did I already had asthama but radiation burned 14% of my lung so now I have COPD and takes symbicort twice a day for it. I get very scared whenever I'm around any chemicals and mildew smells. It will throw me into a full blown asthma attack. So, I started using non chemical dye by Clairol Loveing Color. I was surprise that it only costs $2.98 at my Krogers and it did the same job as the chemical dyes that I used for years. Now, I get my hair professionally dyed and it is a chemical but there is no loud smell. I dyed my hair because my new mother in law had red hair when I met her and she was much older than me...70's and I'm 64...Hahahaha. But I too didn't like the silver, white, and gray colors going on in my hair. I'm back to my natural....hahahah...red hair once again and I feel so much better about my appearance. Cancer you took away my boobie but you can't get my red hair, IT GREW BACK....FU Cancer.

Finally getting my highlights next month, april, which I did before chemo. My chemo finished april of 2011, and this will be the first time I'm having highlights since.

My Oncologist told me to wait about 6 months, but I was going back to work and didn't want to wait that long. I used my regular non-permanent color...ash blonde, which usually comes out as medium brown, but this time it came out bright red! I was so upset...I guess the chemicals weren't all out of my system yet.
