Chemo Poisons & Immune System...
Does anyone know how long it takes for chemo poisons to leave the body? Also, how long after chemo, is one's immune system jeopardized? Thank you for any answers, I receive!
Thank you, Ladies! You just reaffirmed what I already thought...I had last chemo cocktail-Oct 15-and continue w/Herceptin every week! I am still fatigued and have a cough I cannot kick! Wishing you a Happy, healthier New Year ! 🎉
I finished chemo 4 years ago and suffer daily fatigue. My doctor told me 30% of chemo patients gave lingering immune disorders and fatigue. It's a small price to pay I suppose but I just wish it hadn't aged my body so much.
Chemo is an immune system suppressing drug. Hence the reason that many ladies have to take Neulasta or another drug that will pump up their white blood cell count.
For me, I have always had allergies and asthma, which are really auto-immune disorders where the immune system attacks the body. For a year and a half after chemo, I didn't have any issues with asthma or allergies. Then it all came back!!! Worse than it was before chemo!!
Not that I'm complaining, I know it means that my immune system is "back up and running" but sometimes my allergies are just a beast.
About a month. Make sure you adopt a healthy diet afterwards to help speed healing and regenerate blood cells.
My onco told me it can take up to a year.
A lot of water with lemon and drink lots of green juice!
Which Is Better For Post Menopausal Women -- Tamoifen Or Amiridex
