First chemo I thought they were trying to kill meended up in the hospital the last 2 went well and due for another in 5 days we will see how number four goes. keep stool softners on hand. Keep mouth washed with baking soda and salt. Drink plenty water. Take your meds as the doctor says even if you don't feel sick. Sleep when ever you want to. Hair will start to fall out about two weeks after your first chemo. I still have eyelashes and eye brows. Hope every thing goes well.

I too had taxotere ..carboplatin. ..and herceptin for 6 rounds. Now I am getting just herceptin until November. The first treatment was bad..my white blood count dropped very low and had trouble with heartburn. Started getting a shot to keep the blood count up with the second one and that worked much better. My treatments were on Thursdays and I always worked on Friday. Saturday, Sunday and Monday were not great days but back to work on Tuesdays. I had some trouble with low potassium and magnesium so had to take both in pill form(am still taking them). Was very tired and had a hard time eating but I took my nausea meds the way they told me to and I didn't have any trouble with nasuea. I would really recommend taking the meds as prescribed. I set my alarm in the middle of the night to take the nausea meds so that I would be sick. Good luck and you will get through this.

First treatment put me in the hospital for low white blood count, heart burn really bad and lived in fog world for a few days or the first week. Now I take shot to keep my blood count up for 7 days after chemo. helps a lot the 2nd treatment went a lot better was only sick one day but still really tired. Did not have miss any work with the second treatment. the third treatment is on Wed so we will see how it goes. Good Luck. And do take your meds as the Doctors tell you they help with not getting so sick to your stomach if you take them before you do get sick.

I had 6 treatments of the TCH and Perjeta. It wasn't too horrific- I really thought it would be worse. Of course, every treatment was different. By the end, I was much more tired, and my appetite was constantly changing!
