Acronyms
Hi Everyone
I'm a newbie. 😃. I'm also a teacher, so perhaps I should know the answer to my question,..which is: what are the meanings of these acronyms?
DCIS
ILC
IDC
Thanks.

PS. I have imflamatory Breast cancer, so I think I know what "I" means 😄
Infiltrating and invasive I believe are interchangeable and have the same meaning.
I echo what DanielleRose wrote. ASK FOR COPIES of ALL medical reports and read them carefully. If I had read the 2nd pathologist report, I would have pointed it out to my oncologist, who never read it, apparently, and filed it in my file, but never treated me according to the findings. You have to be wise as serpents but gentle as doves, and an advocate and researcher for yourself.
@A MyBCTeam Member I goggled away all acronyms once I had my initial pathology reports. Please ask for copies of ALL paperwork on your tests, labs, slides, etc. this way you are can educate yourself before you go to your next appointments. I created a binder too, tabs for organizations (pathology reports, treatment schedule, Rx info, copies of copay bills, etc) I found this very helpful from the start. LMK if you need any other suggestions....just makes life easy :)
DCIS ductal cell in situ, ILC invasive lobular carcinoma
Ha know I did this kind of organizing for my students when teaching. So I have the materials. I'm going to get started. I have my first app w/ new oncologist in Sedona, AZ. I'll be ready ;-)
