Has Anyone Had Their Fingertips Peel A Month After Completing Taxol Chemo
My fingernails lifted off the nail bed… I would take them with medical tape.band-Aids to not work and they would get soggy with water wash your hands. Unfortunately I did lose my large toe nails and the third ones in. I think that's terribly gross. That's me but I was informed about things as I went along and I know they do that so you're not overwhelmed. Keep your chin up. It's been since October for my last chemo my nails are different and I know they have to completely clear out sometimes is splitter are thin but I try to keep a thin nourishing coat of clear polish on. Big hugs
Mine didn't peel, but I did lose adhesion of the nail tips and had to be very careful not to tear them off. I kept them short and didn't have too much trouble. Now that I'm 18 months past chemo and have been on Tamoxifen for a year +, I'm noticing a different nail sensitivity. They are brittle and split. Don't know if the Taxol is still a contributor or the Tamoxifen or what?
I had four rounds of taxol and the skin on my feet and fingertips peeled starting with round one. My oncologist prescribed a heavy cream but i had issues throughout chemo. My fingernails never came off but toenails and fingernails turned black lifted from the nail beds.
Yes, my fingertips and feet peeled during taxol treatment and afterwards. Cream and heavy lotion.
I lost all my fingernails and toenails and peeled all the time. They come back and the peeling stops eventually. I know it seems awful (and painful) while it is going on. Lots of cream!
