Arimidex
Has anyone stopped taking Arimidex due to side effects?
Yes, I lasted 4 months and said "no more." However, it is a very personal decision to be made after much consideration of all risk factors. I was stage 1, IDC with no lymph node involvement. I had a bilateral BMX. I did a lot of research and decided that I was willing to accept any added risk. I'm one who opts for quality of life and i was miserable. Had I been younger or had more risk factors I may or may not have made a different decision. Be at peace with whatever you decide to do! Hugs.
Yes it caused extreme bone pain and nausea. I switched to aromasin in 2011 and still have bone pain but not as bad. My oncologist wants me on it now indefinately .not thrilled about that.
Thanks JennA!
Back in 2001 I also opted not to take Tamoxifen due to quality vs quantity of life. I was ok for 12 years. I don't regret my decision at all.
now I'm stage 4 and Arimidex got rid of the cancer in my lungs and my lesion on my spine and hip are "dormant" so I really don't feel like I can stop taking it. However, I forgot to take it two days in a row (actually I take at bedtime) and I felt so back to normal yesterday. Very happy go lucky. No aches or pains. No temper.
Yes, this is a very personal and hard decision :(
Yes. Knee pain and leg aches
The weight gain and moodiness are likely due to a lack of estrogen. It will subside with time and a healthy lifestyle
