Went into the hospital day after Christmas for a CT of chest to find infection. My BC breast hasn't been healthy between surgery then radiation
I finally could not take the swelling and pain and entered the hospital for three days of antibiotics. I'm now on massive dose of Amoxicillin for two weeks. Super frustrated the infection won't go away. Anyone else have this issue or is IV antibiotics going to be my new normal. Hi Laura. I am constantly fighting infection in my bc breast and sometimes in the other one. I think it is the expanders my body isn't happy about. I am on Bactrim and amoxil now and was told I would prob be on antibiotics until reconstruction...months from now. I start radiation next week. Hopefully you will at least get to that point. I agree the pain is horrible!

If your immune system is low and it probably is.. that is how we all got cancer in the first place.... have them boost it with those shots. Stay away from people, keep hands sterile. Probably reason we never got infections is we dont go out of the house. mom and I.. and its just the two of us. Where a mask around people, take all precautions.

Patricia I'm so sorry it is a complete drag! Radiation is not too bad. Get some good cream and apply couple times a day. No scents it can burn. Big hugs!!

Cheryle I hated those tubes more than anything. They swing between my legs and I told my husband I was glad I wasn't a boy! Lol! I put port cream on the tubes before I went in and didn't feel a thing when they pulled them out! Love me the port cream!
