Drains Back In......
I may have to have my drains put back in after 1 month post bilateral mastectomy. Anyone have to go through this? Is it full surgery again? Is it outpatient? I can't find anything about them going back in.....
Thanks everyone. Found out that in going back into surgery. The first fIll I had created a good size hole that is constantly leaking. Plastic surgeon says he can see the expander......so waiting on insurance approval I go in as an out patient surgery, under general anesthesia. They will cut me open, switch out the implant, add the drain back in and stitch me up again. Apparently I just don't heal well.....
I had same issue. Fluid kept building up and had to go in every week for five months to get aspirated.
Drain was put back in, but didn't help. Fluid turned to blood. Finally had surgery to clean out area and test everything. Thankfully everything is now fine.
BMX 9/15/15. I had my right side drain put back in, twice in November. That side just kept creating drainage. Now I have a wound vac in that side.
To: Marlene My drain was put back in at doctor office. It wasn't stiched in, so I had limited movement. After a week it fell out.
I had the same issue. Everything is great now.
