Mastectomy Scars

A year after my exchange survey the skin around my scars is tight and the scars dip in like a thin belt tight across my foobs. You can see it under a cami or a light sweater. I'm bummed because I wasn't going to get nipples so I can wear shirts without bras, now. Can't because you can see the scars. Does anybody else have that? Can anything be done?

I had the lat flap surgery and my surgeon recommended a lotion called ScarZone (got it at Meijer's). Used it for a while and the results are great - smooth scars.

My PS recommended a cream called ScarZone (I found it at Meijer's in Indiana). Helped with the raised look of the scars.

My scars are different than most, they are in an X shape and the ends of the Xs are not smooth. I, too, wanted to go braless, but it looks like I have 4 nipples now (to nurse a litter of puppies?lol). I wear bralettes with thin pads to smooth things out. I do find that they are very comfortable and also have no back fat rolls, so the back looks better too. It's not the outcome I imagined, but when does that ever happen? The genie bra type things with thin pads work perfect, and if there's something you can't have straps for, there are stick on silicone pasty kind of things you can wear. Good luck :)

Hi there! After a dozen surgeries plus many drain ports, I have found vitamin d
to be essential. Whether you add it to your diet or enjoy natural sunlight, you will look and feel better. I did get a skin graft to add my nipple. It turned out adorable. It doesn't look great right away but I am very happy with the outcome.

I had a double mastectomy and choose not to get nipple or tattoos since my skin was so stretch out and thin that I can feel my implants. One of my scars did the same thing since I had to get radiation they had to take out saline for my expander so my right breast wouldn't be on the way of the radiation, so after all the time n by the time a I had my exchange implants in kind of got a like dip on in it. What I do is if is noticeable I wear a sports bra. I bought every color there is of sports bra, cause I can't wear a normal bra cause it bothers me in the middle of both breast. And also I both the a breast kind of tape that I found in the bra section and just put on my scar and make its unnoticeable. Hope it helps..
