Who Has Had Xeloda, Tykerb Or Faslodex?
Ok looking for input on Xeloda, Tykerb or Faslodex - these are some names being thrown out by my oncologists as future possibilities. Not sure yet if this Kadcyla is working so those were some replacements they are looking at. Any input, experience, comments, etc on these drugs will be appreciated. Thanks!!
Be sure to ask the nurse to allow the injection to warm to room temp. (they are generally stored chilled) This will help at least a little bit with the pain. My medical facility is about 90 minutes from my house so I plan on stopping about halfway home and walking and moving about a bit. This has helped with the stiffness and some of the soreness associated with my monthly Faslodex injections.
@A MyBCTeam Member, I don't have any side effects. Make sure you get good injection nurses. I specifically asked for certain ones. They are not created equally!
@A MyBCTeam Member - for the most part. Been taking the oxy before bed and it seems to work descent. Tried taking just naproxen but that seems to wear off in the middle of the night. Pop a couple tylenols and try to get back to sleep. I'm hanging in just waiting for new treatment to start. HUGS
Faxlodex is 2 shots they push slowly into the top of your butt. It takes literally a minute or longer to push it in. I lean my elbows on a countertop when they are injecting it (easier to stand still). Also, don't lean on side they are injecting - less soreness later. You'll do great. It's pretty easy, just get sore afterwards for a few days or not at all!! You go girl!!
