All done!! Took some pain meds just incase. It didn't hurt much at all - the incisions sting a bit during and after, but totally manageable. Feels so so good to have them out!

It was out before I even knew lol

I took something about an hour before. It didn't really hurt. Just felt weird. It was tender after. It's been 5 months since my mastectomy and the tenderness has now faded away

Yes it did hurt . Take something before going.

I agree @A MyBCTeam Member...I had a hysterectomy (full, open laparotomy) and I was terrified of drains. I didn't have any, but in April 2015 I had a colon resection because I had an almost total blockage from so much scar tissue from all the abdominal/pelvic surgeries I've had. I had two drain when I woke up. I had a complication so was in the hospital for eight days. The doctor took one drain out before I left. It didn't hurt at all, just felt VERY weird. The other one I had to keep for another week. Same with mastectomy. 2 drains and I went home with them. It feels like a snake slithering out of your insides or something!
