Neuropathy Question
Anyone actually feel that gabapentin is really helpful for neuropathy? Nothing has seemed to help and I can't tell if gabapentin is really helping at all??
I'm so glad that you mentioned PTSD. I'm having a hard time now, more so than after treatment. I too spend alot of my time with my grandkids. Then at the end, I can't rest because my feet and legs are hurting so bad. Maybe this will pass eventually.
It's been 2 1/2 years post chemo and my symptoms are still as bad as ever. Yours went away???
Gabapentin definitely helps but you have to take it in high enough doses. When my neuropathy was bad I took about 2700 mg a day divided in 3 doses. It helped but there is nothing that can take all the symptoms away.
bjd. You sound like me. I don't need any help with being depressed either.
I do take three Gabapentin late afternoon toward early evening. And if I'm up late I take another two. Definitely morning is the time I can deal best with it ! My Dr and primary Dr have never mentioned lyrica for this. Tv commercials for it with side effects kind of turn me off to suggest it. And I assumed that since no one mentioned it it probably didn't have much effect on chemo induced neuropathy! I've been trying a new oil I saw advertised for neuropathy and it just makes my feet itch. Itching combined with the neuropathy pain isn't great so..... I'm sticking with Gabapentin for now I guess.
my pain specialist gave me put me back on Gabapentin. I told him it didn't work . He said take 3 pills at a time. My pain is worse in the early evening and when I should be sleeping. It worked! I can't take 3 pills 3 times a day or I be walking around in a coma lol. Lyrica made me so depressed, Lyrica didn't help , I can be depressed by myself no meds needed. I will pray that something works for you
