Great question. I would think having cancer in our bodies would exacerbate any condition already there prior to cancer and also because of the drugs needed for cancer, medications for prior issues might not be as productive as before.

Yes, cancer treatments can sometimes trigger other health issues. For instance, treatments for breast cancer can lead to various painful side effects, including muscle pain, neuropathy (nerve pain), and bone or joint pain. It's important to discuss any new or worsening symptoms with your healthcare team to manage these effectively.

For bone pain, options include:
- Over-the-counter painkillers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen (consult your doctor first)
- Stronger painkillers like opioids (e.g., morphine, oxycodone)
- Steroid medications
- Cancer treatments like radiation, chemotherapy, and hormone therapy to shrink bone metastases and reduce pain.

Always consult your healthcare provider for personalized advice.

I do not think that doctors offer much more than what is in their particular oncology specialty,
It is the survivors who really are trying to find remedies to help us.
Most of us are not working with major teaching hospitals specializing in
BC and BC trials.
So, that leaves all of us communicating with each other to find answers.
Very often a lightbulb or clue pops up that helps a lot of women on here.

Keep in mind that all these doctors are trained too to use meds to solve issues already there and not to use natural remedies or any remedies to stop problems before they happen or really fix problems.

So sorry you are dealing with all of this. 52 is young. The HRT helped with my chronic pain and depression and sleep. Now I am not supposed to use it so there it all is. And Al's make it so bad I can't take them. And no doctor help since I already take the medications prescribed to take care of these issues. But we are supposed to go along with a pat on the head after the surgery, radiation and whatever else "they" determine we should do with no followup support. This is my experience. Hope it is not everyone's.
