Has Anyone Ever Had A Flap Procedure, If So Where And Would You Do It Again?
Did you do just one breast or both?
I had the latissimus Dorsi Flap procedure and had great results, it was painful and it did take longer to feel normal and come back from this surgery but for me it was worth it. Best of luck
Sorry to hear, where did you go for the surgery? Have you talked to another Dr.?
I had a tram flap resconstruction and it was quite painful right at about 6 years ago. At first, after healing, I was happy with my decision but as time has gone by a significant amount of tissue in my breast have died. It is like rocks and boulders in my breast and some are sharp. You can't see it externally but to feel my breasts is totally abnormal. My husband says it feels like coral reefs under my skin. It is uncomfortable to lay on my sides and certain bras apply pressure. The surgeon several years ago thought living with it was the best alternative because I would be disfigured if further surgery. At this point it really isn't about looks as much as discomfort. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer but it has been a downer daily.
I had a lattisimus flap reconstruction. It definitely doesn’t look like the other reconstructed side but it had to be done due to the radiation. If I had a choice I would not have done the flap as it was a very painful surgery and I still have some pain/cramping from it four years later. But I’m glad I had the reconstruction so in my case yes I would do it again.
