Anyone experience tooth decay post chemo and radiation? I had pretty decent teeth prior to treatment and now I have decay behind my front teeth. Im a vegetarian, brush and floss frequently. So mad.

Yet another long term side effect of chemo that I wasn’t made aware of prior to chemo and I am positive MANY others weren’t made aware of.. it infuriates me that women aren’t given ALL of the information. In my case, of the negative side effects I was told were possible (a very incomplete list) - I was told that they were extremely unlikely and rare. I ended up changing oncologists because mine said that the women who “complain” of side effects online (her word not mine) are just “whiners and complainers.” 😡That didn’t sit well with me as you can imagine! We are human beings experiencing horrible effects of drugs we were not properly informed about. Those who are wise have learned that we need to do EXTENSIVE research on our own into each and EVERY treatment option prior to making treatment decisions instead of blindly taking a doctors advice or only reading the biased information provided by the pharmaceutical companies. We have a right to ALL the facts at the very least!

I had both chemo and radiation and experienced a lot of tooth aches. Every tooth seemed to ache, even those I knew had no cavities. Then I started noticing the spacing changing, gaps getting more noticeable. I hate to smile for pictures now. I'm mad too!

I didn't have radiation so my dentist said chemo is very hard on the enamel due to dry mouth symptoms.
