I Recently Had Bilateral Surgery With 3 Nodes Removed In Which 1 Came Back Positive. It Was .4cm, Didn’t Break Thru Fatty Tissue.

So my question is should I do chemo or is there other treatments out there? I have family history of cancer so chemo seems a bit extreme for me. I’ve heard of many changing diet in preventing cancers. I have Kaiser and looking for a second opinion outside of Kaiser is that possible? It’s been a lot to process and don’t want to rush into making decision, feel it’s important to ask questions and information.

I serve a Mighty God & know I am healed! I want peace from Him in my decision so I know… read more

I would get an Oncotype test done. That will tell you more about your particular cancer and give you a better idea of whether chemo would be effective enough to make it worth the risks. Sending you lots of love, light and healing prayers. 💗

HI...I had a lumpectomy and 8 nodes removed....one came back positive...so now Stage 2 metastatic cancer. So I felt like I was in a maze trying to find solutions. Then I had this website appear from nowhere on my feed right after I received the diagnosis...so I followed up on it....thought perhaps it was a higher power directing me to there. Here is the website: www.chrisbeatcancer.com . (No I was not paid for this endorsement) This guy was in his early 20's and diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer...he had surgery to remove the cancer, but refused other traditional medical treatments...he did natural treatments...14 years later he remains to be cancer free. I was intrigued and he has tons of advice on plant-based diets, nutrition, other natural treatments, suggestions, and tons of podcasts of all different cancer survivors and what they did--a great single source. It helped me to sort out my plotted journey. I have found this site to be incredibly helpful--at least for me. I did go to a plant based diet --which surprisingly was not that difficult for me to make the transition. Being a person who has always fought the weight...this transition was amazingly easy for me. I wish you good health in the future!

You are welcome!! I have found him to be such a wealth of knowledge. He has made it his personal ministry to share with others what he has learned with his own experience as well as other cancer survivors. I hope that you will find it helpful!!! I did not do chemo my mammoprint came back with a score of 1.6% of possible reoccurrence if I did chemo which does not outweigh the side effects. However since it was metastatic...I had to do the max of radiation treatments 31x....which were very taxing on me....in addition the second day of radiation I fell and broke 3 bones in my foot...so the orthopedic recovery was rough while having radiation. As for the diet...when I received my initial diagnosis...that is when I found out about Chris Wark(the link I sent you). I know I cannot change the hormone issue which fed my IDC cancer...other than hormone suppressants. Which I am doing. However, I do have control over my diet and exercise. I have read over and over how cancer can reside in the fatty tissues and cancer loves sugar....All roads of change seem to lead back to a plant based diet and purified water. So I easily converted to that lifestyle...no meat, no sweets, no teets--so no meat, sugar, and dairy---and try to do organic too---but sometimes I have sticker shock with the prices. Also my Integrated Doctor wants me to be gluten free too. So I try to find a lot of recipes from the Mediterranean Diets. I live in Indiana so fresh seafood is dismal...but it should be wild caught or organic chicken--free range preferred. My integrated physician--not my Oncologist or Surgeon-- has prescribed a lot of supplements that help fend off cancer cells as well like curcumin, alpha lipoic acid, NAC...etc. I have dropped a lot of weight in 6 mos--without really trying....or at least I feel full. I am also looking into some Chinese herbs and/or Enzyme control which is discussed by others on his podcasts. Hope this helps you with your journey! To good health in the future!!

Hi Sharon. It's so difficult to know the right thing to do, isn't it. As far as treatment goes, please discuss options with your Oncologist. No one on this blog can answer that question. If you are not confident with your Oncologists' recommendations, seek a second opinion. Oncotype scoring, as Jesphoenix stated, will help with decision making. If you have a family history of cancer, you also may have had BRCA testing and genetic counseling. All of these factor into the plan of care. Again, please discuss these with your Oncologist.
