Don't know if anyone is still following this but I promised an update on my bone density after four years on Arimidex and the last two years on Prolia. As of last week my T-scores for lumbar spine, T-score improved from -2.7 to -1.9, Z score -1.3 to -0.2. Likewise hip, T-score, -1.1 to -0.7; Z-score, -0.3 to 0.4 and femoral neck T-score -1.6 to -1.1; Z-score -0.3 to 0.4. So Prolia has definitely made an improvement for me. I know other people's numbers are boring but wanted to put it out there in case anyone is on the fence about taking it and might find this useful.

Everyone is different, my first breast cancer diagnosis was in my left breast, small tumor, no lymph nodes involved, oncotype score was low, and the following year (almost to the day, I had a cancer diagnosis in my right breast(everything was the same, tumor was even smaller, no chemo, just radiation. Was on anastrozole a few months after first diagnosis, had to stop taking it ( tried all 3, estrogen reducing meds) all had terrible side effects, now on tamoxifen for almost two years, 3 more to go. No two breast cancers are the same!

I was told 50%. I'm in year 10 with a 2% chance from 11% in 2013. Going to live life, have some wonderful times with my family and pets.

Im'm also on Anatrazole. I was originally on Tamoxifen but when I had my heart attacks the oncologist switched me to Anastrazole. I prefer Anaztrazole to Tamoxifen. From what I was told it helps prevent a recurrence but there are no guarantees. In other words our bodies are different and some women will do well with Anastrazole some don't. I hope this helps

So from what I understand from my oncologist (I have been on Anastrozole for the past 5 years ending in August 31st. He said that there is a 22% of recurrence with Anastrozole but he feels that in my case, since it was stage 1 and I caught it early, I won't get it, but no doctor is God so I am hoping for the best. Ahhhhh, we just have to be grateful for what we have, could be worse right? we could be 6 feet under, so if we have a second chance, lets thank God for that. They say he won't give us something we can't handle so we take it one day at a time, one step at a time xo
