Has Anyone Done Double Mastectomy, TRAM Reconstruction And Ovaries/fallopian Tubes All In Combined Surgery?
With BRCA2 news rethinking plan of attack. Originally scheduled unilateral mastectomy and pedical TRAM. Now need to add removal of ovaries and fallopian tubes and figured while they’ve got access creating flap why not go for the trifecta surgery. Even wondering if PS can keep me flat but create a nice closure (better than what breast surgeon would do). Welcome any and all feedback. Thanks everyone!
I was told my breast surgery and hysterectomy could be done one OR time; however, it was surgeons schedules that didn't make it possible. My plastic surgeon's OR times were Tues/Wed/Thur and my gyn for robotic assist was on Fri.
I don't think all the surgeons would coordinate together if they thought it was a bad idea. Very common to do mastectomies and immediate reconstruction. The oopherectomy in the screem of things, not a biggie compared to the other two surgeries in terms of recovery. I'd do it.
I had ovaries & tubes removed at the same time I did the swap from the expander to implants. As mentioned above, the two surgeons coordinated the surgery.
I have been advised oopharectomy needs to be separate from DMX and reconstruction 8//. Meeting gyn onc tomorrow as have testing to assess my status. Will be able to do before end of year.
Already have breast surgeon and PS scheduled. Real question is: is it too much surgery at once to do bilateral mastectomy, reconstruction AND removal of ovaries and fallopian tubes in single day of surgery. Is this too much to recover from at once? Anyone have this experience?
Ovaries & Tubes
Recurrence????
Can Anyone Offer Some Knowledge On A Nipple Sparing Mastectomy With Direct Implant?
