Mammogram

A MyBCTeam Member asked a question 💭
spain murcia

I have a 3cm lump near the edge of my breast which has grown in size the last few months.I am beside mysef with worry,as mammo came back saying small calcifications - negative,no mention of this lump which is painful, itchy, and tingling. When I tried to show lady dr the lump she wasn't interested and kept pointing to the results. Now where do I go from her. Many thanks for any help.

I would recommend finding a doctor with a different health system for a 2nd opinion. Preferably a health system with a good women’s health program.

Ask for a copy of the detailed radiologist’s report. Insist on an ultrasound. Take your images and report to another doctor who is a breast specialist for a 2nd opinion. Many hospitals have Women’s Centers or Breast Imaging Departments.

Opt for the 3D mammo. Pay out of pocket if you have to.

Thank you so much for your post I'm going to pay privately for an MRI scan when I see breast consultant next Tues,if they just mentioned what the lump was but never did.Only small benign calcifications.xxxx
