Is Constant Aching Pain Normal 8 Months After Surgery?

A MyBCTeam Member asked a question 💭

I still have constant pain in the breast I had my lumpectomy. It's been 8 months. Is this normal? This is a constant ache, separately from my shooting nerve pains.

Yes! Constant pain after my lumpectomy. And it is the whole breast...not just where the incision is. The pain can just be dull and throbbing, which is most of the time, or it can be a sharp stabbing pain which almost takes my breath away. I am working with my acupuncturist to find some relief. Also, my breast is still very swollen 10 months post surgery and 7 months post radiation.

I had a lumpectomy 4yrs.ago and it still hurts to touch it on a certain spot. I think a lot of it now is scar tissue.
