I am researching cold capping to use during chemo treatments. Does anyone have any experience with this or recommendations?

Same here,I've done Paxman with my first treatment .The price is right on as Lizzy2 said. Its cold but not terribly bad ,in my opinion, if u ever used Tea tree shampoo or any menthol like product on your hair that's what the Paxman feels like to me.I find it invigorating as I liked using the tea tree shampoo and scalp treatments that cool the scalp before starting chemo.treatment.

I have been using the Paxman/Cool Cap. It is a 30 min prep time and wear it for 2 hours during my treatment. Only having one treatment so far with the second coming up soon, I have not had any unusual shedding. I have also only been washing my hair as per the directions, so using their shampoo and conditioner twice a week, no additional hair products or dying of my hair. They say your hair comes back thicker and stringer too. I would recommend it however it is pricey at $1200 for 4 treatments. My insurance will pay for most of it under durable equipment.

I live in San Diego & bought it from Wigs by Vee. Vee is very knowledgeable, caring & really took her time to help me choose a quality wig that I would love. Unfortunately I couldn't find a wig place that was covered by insurance so I had to buy it out of pocket. But, it was totally worth it!

My advice is if you buy a wig, really do your research on finding a reputable place & someone who is knowledgeable. I went to lots of places & asked lots of questions before I found Vee. She also custom fitted my wig to make sure it fit my head securely. You'd be surprised that some places hire people who aren't experienced. It's a big investment so take your time and don't buy anything right away. I tried on tons of wigs (synthetic & human hair, in different styles) and had my sister take pics of me in the wigs so I can look back at them before choosing which one I wanted.

Go with someone so you can get their opinion as well. It's more fun too. I went with my sister to some places & my hubby at some others 👍🏽

I chose a remi human hair wig since it's a better quality wig. Do your research so you are familiar with the different types of wigs.

Your hair is important. Buy a high quality wig that when you put it on makes you feel gorgeous! Trust me, it's worth it! It makes me feel normal since people don't notice it's a wig! I get so many compliments (even more than my real hair)!

Sending hugs & love your way ❤️
