Hi Donna.
Seems like you had a lat dorsis flap for reconstruction. I had one as well, though mine is recent.
I do have what feels like electrical zaps, though not that many and they just last a second or so. It seems like a nerve thing. I haven't had one in a week or so (I may just have jinxed myself). I'm hoping not to have any more.
I do have a large scar going down my back on the reconstructed side. It looked scary, but now that the bandages over the stitches have been removed, it doesn't look so bad.
I plan on going to physical therapy once ps clears me. I want to make sure that I gain back my strength on that side as it is my dominant side.
I hope that the pains finally go away for you. Sending you hugs.

After my lumpectomy in 2002, I'd get short sharp pains in that area and my doctor said it could be scar tissue along with nerves trying to reconnect. After my bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction, I had scars along my back due to the ps had to use tissue from there to fill in up front (it was a mess, won't go into details) and I had electrical feeling pains there. Spoke with a physical therapist that I work with and he showed me some massage techniques that have helped with the pains. They haven't completely gone away, but I don't have them near as often as before. So thankful for this therapist showing me what to do when they start again.
