I know you are stage 4, I strongly don't like that, or anyone dealing with any of this! And though I am not stage 4, I have huge chance of recurrence.. that would most likely mean same as you.. I'm sick of hearing about it, and I might tell my oncologist, at least let me start doing all the d bloodwork once a yr instead.. I have horrible anxiety, always have, as all of us know, this crap puts it through the roof.. Peace and Wuv my friend.. <333

Similar situation. Petscan showed no evidence of metastatic disease in bones or anywhere else. Both kidneys and liver are good but since October my CA 27 29 has gone up 200 points. Early October I had a cancerous tumor low grade non invasive removed and 1 dose chemo through urethra. Very baffling as to why numbers are rising!
I'm waiting for the numbers to catch up with my miracle of remission. JUST GOT CA 27 29 BACK FROM YESTERDAY AND NOW IM WAY UP TO 500! Don't have issues with anemia, liver or kidneys, nor am I pregnant! Always a Friday when I get results!

Barbara, my oncologist told me almost anything can make them go up, and it can be benign. It's like you said, we cannot rely on numbers. But I see their side why they do them, because if they go way up suddenly it oftentimes could be a warning sign. It's all crazy. But anyway.. Happy New Year in case I don't come back on till after that.. :)

I loved watching my CA go down from 4400 each dr visit. Then it plateaued. Got stuck at 118. Now going up. At 318 now. Can't help but think where in my body is cancer hiding because petscan showed clean report except for some pneumonitis in 1 lung. My Dr did not say don't worry about the numbers, your scan shows remission. She too is concerned about the rise. I thank you ladies for your replies and will try not to fixate. Hopefully they will
