Aromatase Inhibitors
I'm just curious how many women who take an AI are taking it alone and how many women are also taking the infusions and injections to prevent bone loss?
Hmmm, my oncologist recommended calcium plus D3 and didn’t mention these things, so thanks for the heads up, I will ask him.
Nothing but bone density tests at the moment. But my last test showed pretty good bone health
I take exemestane. 3.5 yrs, 2 bone scans. I exercise daily with strength exercises, walk as often as weather allows and take D3- K2 recent scan shows K2 is doing a good job. I had osteopenia before diagnosis. Still registering as osteopenia. But with slight improvement. Careful to take K2 with MK-7 derived from non estrogen source. See onco after Christmas. He will be shocked at results. Had only been using K2 for 5 weeks at time of bone scan. Did my research from NIH, and studies in Korea, Denmark, UK, Spain. Amazing what you can discover has been found in worldwide research. I cannot take calcium supplements, so d3-k2 is my go to now!
I’ve been on Letrozole for 8+ years. Have a DEXA scan every 2 years. Had my 3rd or 4th scan in August and bones are still going strong so not taking anything else. Dr very pleased that my bones are in the range of a 20-30 year old. I exercise, take calcium and vitamin D.
I am on anastrozole. I take a calcium supplement and D3.
