Depends on the diagnosis of your tumor. The grade, the size, are you ER+ or PR+? Are you HER2+? All of these things are factors. your doctor should be able to go over what your treatment will be.

I was just diagnosed with stage 1 . Very small tumor 10mm. I had lumpectomy and sentinel node. I have to have radiation , then followed by 5 years of taking hormone therapy pills. Everyone is different . I hope yours turns out as good as mine did. Prayers

Ruth, thats a hard question because everyone is different. Depending on the size/location/type/ genetics etc. Some get lumpectomy or mastectomy and some get double mastectomies, some get chemo or radiation or both and then take drugs afterwards to fight any cells left behind and to keep it from coming back so thats a hard question to answer . Your doctor will discuss treatment and options and then we will be able to offer you more help understanding what they mean and give you ideas how to make those treatments easier on you.
